Dr. Levy is currently CSO of Drive Therapeutics, a company focused on developing oligonucleotide-based therapeutics.
Dr. Levy has more than 20 years of experience working with and engineering nucleic acids and proteins in both academia and industry. He is expert in using directed evolution to improve molecular activity and function. Prior to moving to industry, Dr. Levy held a position as Associate Professor of Biochemistry at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, where he ran a successful research program for 9 years focused on developing new technologies and approaches using engineered proteins and nucleic acids for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. He has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed publications and has 7 issued patents. Dr. Levy received his B.S. in Biochemistry and his M.S. in Chemistry at the University of California San Diego, working in the laboratory of Stanley L. Miller. Dr. Levy went on to obtain his Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin in the laboratory of Andrew D. Ellington.
